Abstrakt
W niniejszym artykule przyglądam się użyciu metod etnograficznych w badaniu tzw. nowych technologii komunikacyjno-informacyjnych, poddając je krytycznej refleksji. Omawiając przemiany antropologii cyfrowej na przestrzeni ostatnich 30 lat, wskazuję najnowsze nurty w dyscyplinie i jej metodach. Na podstawie tej analizy pokazuję jak rosnąca skala ucyfrowienia rzeczywistości społecznej wpływa na redefinicję terenu badań, a poprzez to samych metod badawczych, stanowiących podstawę etnograficznej praktyki badawczej – obserwacji uczestniczącej i wywiadu pogłębionego. Sięgam przy tym do własnych doświadczeń prowadzenia badań etnograficznych w anglojęzycznym i polskojęzycznym Internecie, gdzie badałam społeczności otwartej współpracy, przepływy informacji czy usieciowioną przestrzeń publiczną.
