The subject of discussion are two volumes of the publication Studia i materiały z historii nowożytnej i najnowszej Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, edited by Tomasz Kargol and Vitaly Mikhalovsky. The articles included in the volumes present in a multithreaded way the problems of the history of Central and Eastern Europe, especially Poland and Ukraine. The published works deal with the history of the nobility, the history of the peasantry and the bourgeoisie, the history of women, the history of cities or international and interreligious relations. Also finding a place on the pages of the volumes are articles devoted to the history of tourism in Istria and Dalmatia in the 19th c. or the tradition of protection and conservation of historical monuments in Eastern Galicia.
