The burgher and guild emblems on the selected votive plaques in the church of St. Anne in Lubawa

Abstract

The article discusses a selection of silver votive plaques from the church of St. Anne in Lubawa, containing burgher and guild emblems. Additionally, the biographical
information about donors of the plaques is presented. The founders represented the town’s elite and local craft guilds. Most of them were also members of the prestigious
Corpus Christi Brotherhood, established in 1608 by the Bishop of Chełmno Wawrzyniec Gembicki. The confraternity was the oldest in the parish church and second oldest in
the town.
