Calendars published by Ignacy Michałowski, a Cracow physician, in the first half of the 18th c.

Abstract

Ignacy Michałowski (d. 1739) came from the Cracow middle class. He graduated from the Cracow Academy; having received a doctoral degree in medicine at the University of Padua he became a professor of the Cracow Academy’s Faculty of Medicine. In the years 1709–1739 he published popular astrologic calendars, in which he included many articles concerning medicine and geography, as well as information on curiositis(scientia curiosa). The article analyses the contents and the layout of the calendars.
