Abstract

The article presents the procedure of nomination, duties and remuneration of the court officials in the Duchy of Stettin in the 16th and early 17th c. Attention is paid to the marshal of the household and his deputy, the under-marshal. Until the 1570s similar duties were performed by the house-master, whose role was later limited to supervising the duchess’s female household. The duke’s chancery was supervised by the chancellor. Finally, the rent-master was in charge of the duke’s privy purse.
