Abstract

The article is devoted to the presence of civil engineering issues in the works of the Administrative Council, the highest collegial government body of the Kingdom of Poland  (1815–1830). An analysis of such bodies’ involvement in civil engineering, including a general concept of its development, interest in particular enterprises and the context of decisions taken, sheds light on the strategic importance of civil engineering for the state. Based mainly on the minutes of the Council’s meetings, the author discusses its interest in state, sacred and private buildings.
