Abstract

This article is dedicated to Professor Maria Dekówna on the occasion of her 90th birthday. It presents her profile, achievements and scientific interests, which focused on early medieval glass, glassmaking, goldsmithing and jewellery. Professor Dekówna's great achievement is her many years (until the end of 2023) of work on the editorial board of Archeologia Polski, a journal that is important not only for its publisher (the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences), but also for the entire Central European research community.
